Friendship Sweets

Nothing compares a night out with friends before Christmas day. We don’t usually go out after Christmas Day but since others were planning to work elsewhere far from this place after the holiday, we decided to celebrate Christmas together after we spend Christmas with each of our own family.

It was not at all awkward despite the fact that it was our first Christmas celebration, which came in rush. It was even so much fun. We all gathered and prepared food, which each contributed. Our dessert was none other than Christmas Sweets. I believe that Christmas Sweets are made for purposes of bringing up friends together. All night we ate, shared stories and even cried our heart out during the process. We knew that few of us will be leaving soon to find work but we were not ready to let go. Our friendship all these years was tight and despite the obstacles that we went through, we all held on to each other. We already established love in our friendship and it was so hard to see them leave.

After noticing the chocolate stains in our cheeks, we laughed about the whole thing and decided to change the topic so that when someone leaves, she will carry with her the last happiest moment she had spent with us. Of course, we want what’s best for them and I could see that they really have the desire to move forward with their life and become somebody in the real world. We poured out all our support and congrats to the few who were out to venture the career world and wished them good luck in their journey. It is another chapter in their life that they had to undertake and I know I’ll just be here cheering for them.

Natural Yet Extra Special

I definitely love it when my younger cousins are around. I get to be myself without need of pretention and consciousness. They, too, act the way they really do with or without me in their side. We enjoy hanging out with each other and though close as we are we never fail to say our honest feelings about what each other has done or has not done.

Nevertheless, all in all my experience with them is nothing less fun and boring. In fact we are a bit wacky and unpredictable but in a good way. I recall that just last month we went to the gasoline station’s mini mart and posed inside for pictures while waiting for our car to get fixed. Another fun time with them is when we went for a joyride on the newly established bridge where there was a flowing river underneath. The view was awesome. My sister is our driver all the time and she doesn’t mind taking us anywhere besides she comes along too, obviously, so the more the merrier. Sometimes we also enjoy similar movies, food and hobbies. Speaking of movie and food I remember it very well the time when we watched “The Grinch" during Christmas holiday. We brought our own snack, which is the Christmas Sweets. From the beginning to the end part of the movie, we were feasting on the Christmas Sweets because undeniably, they are delicious and perfect for movie watching. We took a lot with us to make sure that we wouldn’t starve inside the movie theater.

Our getting together comes so naturally. I really love it that we get along pretty well even if there exists age gap and different personalities. Anyhow, I am thankful to Christmas Sweets that always make our adventure extra special.

A Taste Of My Own Medicine

On a Christmas afternoon, my sister and I are planning to go to China someday. Well, actually I’m the only one who wants to go there while she wants to go to Europe. However, I managed to convince her that we should go to China first because I love its place, for one thing, and then its infinite line of tourist spots and restaurants. While making my list of to do’s, she is also making her own list of the things she will bring and buy when she arrives in Europe until it becomes a contest. She’s writing too fast and I am too. We both smile at each other but we never lose focus on our list. I know I was losing because I realize that it’s not really all about who gets to finish first but how many we can write.

Very practical, I thought because sure thing when you go on vacation is to have all that you need to be able to save for souvenirs. I use every trick in the book to get her to stop but nothing seems to work except for one thing. I trick her into showing the Christmas Sweets I have. I say that if she wins she will never have any of MY Christmas Sweets. I know that she will never resist my offer because she, too, loves Christmas Sweets especially the mouth-watering dark chocolates. She suddenly stops writing. She lets me win so I let her have the Christmas Sweets after I’ve taken some of my share. After we settle down, she quickly continue making her list, filling every line. She tempt me with the last piece of Christmas Sweets saying that if I let her win, I can have that piece. Oh well, she wins after all.

A Great Gift - Christmas Sweets

It was already December and Christmas vacation was coming close and once again classes in second semester of College will be stopped temporarily. I had yet to buy presents for my friends and I know that the vacation will take long for us to meet again. I rounded up my friends in a small bench located at the corner of the soccer field and apologized for not giving them presents ahead. They understood very well because of the busy lives we portray in our studies. They, too, didn’t have any present for me. However, I brought with me Christmas Sweets and I shared it with them. I told them that it would be my present for them that year. It would be another long afternoon out in the soccer field bonding with each other and feeling the cool breeze in our faces clearly showing that Christmas was fast approaching. It was almost dark and we all prepared ourselves to go home, we hugged and kissed each other good-bye with glee in our hearts. Again, the evidence of Christmas Sweets were left on the path of the soccer field, which marked another enjoyable bonding of friends, whom I also consider sisters, who spent early Christmas in school without spending much.

I knew that even if we didn’t prepare ourselves much for Christmas because we were equally occupied with school work, we had it in our heart that it would be best to just gather and share our favorite Christmas Sweets. It was also memorable that way. May be someday we will all be looking back at this event in our lives and just be laughing about it because Christmas is not only about presents but the getting together of people and loved-ones to celebrate one very special day.

Christmas Sweets – Bringing Oneness in Friendship

It is so heart warming to be with friends before and after College Graduation Day.

The day before the Graduation Day, my friends and I decided to meet up in a certain place where none of us have completely been to for the sake of another new adventure but in the end we all met up in one of my friends’ house. We planned to meet before Graduation Day so we could chit chat or may be recall some of our funniest and never ending college experiences. We didn’t prepare much as to what we’re going to eat but one thing we didn’t miss to bring was the Christmas Sweets. We all laughed for the fact that each of us really found the effort to bring chocolates to lighten up the atmosphere of us being together.

We remember that the Christmas Sweets first came to us way back in freshmen year. All of us like chocolates but neither of us usually brings food during class because we are afraid that our professor would notice us munching chocolates and trace chocolate marks on our uniforms during his/her class and would put us all in detention. Well, nobody wants that, of course, but I can see it in their eyes how hard it was holding back to their cravings. That’s why we just meet after class and gather what we’ve got and lay them down the cafeteria table and savor that precious moment of having the break to spend time together, discuss our lessons and assignment, even gossips while sharing the same food that we all like so much. This went on until we reached Senior year in College. We even had the Christmas Sweets when we all talked about our plans for the future. That was the best. I wonder if we will still have our favorites when we will be working.

A month after the Graduation Day, again we all gathered. Upon seeing each other, we all noticed the same thing, change. Few changed their hairdo, others their lifestyle or way of living and others their viewpoint in the real world but one thing that did not change was our likeness to one thing that bring us together despite our differences – the Christmas Sweets.

My Christmas Sweets Love Story

Every Christmas, I always have time for my girl friend and treat her in nearest restaurant. I remember the time we used to laugh and have bonding with the chocolates and lollies. Before we decided to have a relationship, I always gave her Christmas treats and some other stuff she likes. In all those Christmas treats I gave, chocolates are her favorites.

When she said she loved me too, I felt lucky of having her in my life. She’s always in my mind every night and day. And when the sun rises again, she’s the first woman that came in my mind. But there was a time that we have conflict with each other and we used to be silent for a while, only Christmas treats like chocolates made her smile and let our love bloom.

Sometimes we used to go to an amusement park and spend a lot of time. We always bring chocolates and lollies. We both have a great time of spending our whole day in the amusement park. Afterwards, we decided to have lunch to the nearest restaurant, I always remember that after we eat, she always has Christmas treats with her.

When we got home and she let me see her room, I saw many sweets hampers and many stuff. I feel so lucky of having her in my life and with the presents of Christmas sweets I always got lucky. Things go by and still we stand for our love till the end and forever in our hearts.
