Friendship Sweets

Nothing compares a night out with friends before Christmas day. We don’t usually go out after Christmas Day but since others were planning to work elsewhere far from this place after the holiday, we decided to celebrate Christmas together after we spend Christmas with each of our own family.

It was not at all awkward despite the fact that it was our first Christmas celebration, which came in rush. It was even so much fun. We all gathered and prepared food, which each contributed. Our dessert was none other than Christmas Sweets. I believe that Christmas Sweets are made for purposes of bringing up friends together. All night we ate, shared stories and even cried our heart out during the process. We knew that few of us will be leaving soon to find work but we were not ready to let go. Our friendship all these years was tight and despite the obstacles that we went through, we all held on to each other. We already established love in our friendship and it was so hard to see them leave.

After noticing the chocolate stains in our cheeks, we laughed about the whole thing and decided to change the topic so that when someone leaves, she will carry with her the last happiest moment she had spent with us. Of course, we want what’s best for them and I could see that they really have the desire to move forward with their life and become somebody in the real world. We poured out all our support and congrats to the few who were out to venture the career world and wished them good luck in their journey. It is another chapter in their life that they had to undertake and I know I’ll just be here cheering for them.

Natural Yet Extra Special

I definitely love it when my younger cousins are around. I get to be myself without need of pretention and consciousness. They, too, act the way they really do with or without me in their side. We enjoy hanging out with each other and though close as we are we never fail to say our honest feelings about what each other has done or has not done.

Nevertheless, all in all my experience with them is nothing less fun and boring. In fact we are a bit wacky and unpredictable but in a good way. I recall that just last month we went to the gasoline station’s mini mart and posed inside for pictures while waiting for our car to get fixed. Another fun time with them is when we went for a joyride on the newly established bridge where there was a flowing river underneath. The view was awesome. My sister is our driver all the time and she doesn’t mind taking us anywhere besides she comes along too, obviously, so the more the merrier. Sometimes we also enjoy similar movies, food and hobbies. Speaking of movie and food I remember it very well the time when we watched “The Grinch" during Christmas holiday. We brought our own snack, which is the Christmas Sweets. From the beginning to the end part of the movie, we were feasting on the Christmas Sweets because undeniably, they are delicious and perfect for movie watching. We took a lot with us to make sure that we wouldn’t starve inside the movie theater.

Our getting together comes so naturally. I really love it that we get along pretty well even if there exists age gap and different personalities. Anyhow, I am thankful to Christmas Sweets that always make our adventure extra special.

A Taste Of My Own Medicine

On a Christmas afternoon, my sister and I are planning to go to China someday. Well, actually I’m the only one who wants to go there while she wants to go to Europe. However, I managed to convince her that we should go to China first because I love its place, for one thing, and then its infinite line of tourist spots and restaurants. While making my list of to do’s, she is also making her own list of the things she will bring and buy when she arrives in Europe until it becomes a contest. She’s writing too fast and I am too. We both smile at each other but we never lose focus on our list. I know I was losing because I realize that it’s not really all about who gets to finish first but how many we can write.

Very practical, I thought because sure thing when you go on vacation is to have all that you need to be able to save for souvenirs. I use every trick in the book to get her to stop but nothing seems to work except for one thing. I trick her into showing the Christmas Sweets I have. I say that if she wins she will never have any of MY Christmas Sweets. I know that she will never resist my offer because she, too, loves Christmas Sweets especially the mouth-watering dark chocolates. She suddenly stops writing. She lets me win so I let her have the Christmas Sweets after I’ve taken some of my share. After we settle down, she quickly continue making her list, filling every line. She tempt me with the last piece of Christmas Sweets saying that if I let her win, I can have that piece. Oh well, she wins after all.

A Great Gift - Christmas Sweets

It was already December and Christmas vacation was coming close and once again classes in second semester of College will be stopped temporarily. I had yet to buy presents for my friends and I know that the vacation will take long for us to meet again. I rounded up my friends in a small bench located at the corner of the soccer field and apologized for not giving them presents ahead. They understood very well because of the busy lives we portray in our studies. They, too, didn’t have any present for me. However, I brought with me Christmas Sweets and I shared it with them. I told them that it would be my present for them that year. It would be another long afternoon out in the soccer field bonding with each other and feeling the cool breeze in our faces clearly showing that Christmas was fast approaching. It was almost dark and we all prepared ourselves to go home, we hugged and kissed each other good-bye with glee in our hearts. Again, the evidence of Christmas Sweets were left on the path of the soccer field, which marked another enjoyable bonding of friends, whom I also consider sisters, who spent early Christmas in school without spending much.

I knew that even if we didn’t prepare ourselves much for Christmas because we were equally occupied with school work, we had it in our heart that it would be best to just gather and share our favorite Christmas Sweets. It was also memorable that way. May be someday we will all be looking back at this event in our lives and just be laughing about it because Christmas is not only about presents but the getting together of people and loved-ones to celebrate one very special day.

Christmas Sweets – Bringing Oneness in Friendship

It is so heart warming to be with friends before and after College Graduation Day.

The day before the Graduation Day, my friends and I decided to meet up in a certain place where none of us have completely been to for the sake of another new adventure but in the end we all met up in one of my friends’ house. We planned to meet before Graduation Day so we could chit chat or may be recall some of our funniest and never ending college experiences. We didn’t prepare much as to what we’re going to eat but one thing we didn’t miss to bring was the Christmas Sweets. We all laughed for the fact that each of us really found the effort to bring chocolates to lighten up the atmosphere of us being together.

We remember that the Christmas Sweets first came to us way back in freshmen year. All of us like chocolates but neither of us usually brings food during class because we are afraid that our professor would notice us munching chocolates and trace chocolate marks on our uniforms during his/her class and would put us all in detention. Well, nobody wants that, of course, but I can see it in their eyes how hard it was holding back to their cravings. That’s why we just meet after class and gather what we’ve got and lay them down the cafeteria table and savor that precious moment of having the break to spend time together, discuss our lessons and assignment, even gossips while sharing the same food that we all like so much. This went on until we reached Senior year in College. We even had the Christmas Sweets when we all talked about our plans for the future. That was the best. I wonder if we will still have our favorites when we will be working.

A month after the Graduation Day, again we all gathered. Upon seeing each other, we all noticed the same thing, change. Few changed their hairdo, others their lifestyle or way of living and others their viewpoint in the real world but one thing that did not change was our likeness to one thing that bring us together despite our differences – the Christmas Sweets.

My Christmas Sweets Love Story

Every Christmas, I always have time for my girl friend and treat her in nearest restaurant. I remember the time we used to laugh and have bonding with the chocolates and lollies. Before we decided to have a relationship, I always gave her Christmas treats and some other stuff she likes. In all those Christmas treats I gave, chocolates are her favorites.

When she said she loved me too, I felt lucky of having her in my life. She’s always in my mind every night and day. And when the sun rises again, she’s the first woman that came in my mind. But there was a time that we have conflict with each other and we used to be silent for a while, only Christmas treats like chocolates made her smile and let our love bloom.

Sometimes we used to go to an amusement park and spend a lot of time. We always bring chocolates and lollies. We both have a great time of spending our whole day in the amusement park. Afterwards, we decided to have lunch to the nearest restaurant, I always remember that after we eat, she always has Christmas treats with her.

When we got home and she let me see her room, I saw many sweets hampers and many stuff. I feel so lucky of having her in my life and with the presents of Christmas sweets I always got lucky. Things go by and still we stand for our love till the end and forever in our hearts.

Retro Sweet Hampers – The Best Gift This Christmas

It was the eve of Christmas and while most were asleep, Dad was busy in his study working on something unique for my mother. My mother had been the rock of our family while father worked hard to give us a better life. In between taking care of three particularly restless children, I being the most cumbersome, she had managed to grow a beautiful garden at our house. During the summer months, these flowers showcased all colors that were pleasant to the eyes. Almost like a painting by Van Gogh, my mother painstakingly and religiously spent so much time caring for her flowers or as she would sometimes call it, her behaved children.

Father was always out of the country during those summer months and would try to make time to join us every summer at the residence for at least a week, before an urgent phone call would have him packing his suitcase for a meeting somewhere in the world. I am sure this bothered my mom but she showed no signs of it. From time to time, she would take Polaroid’s of us and of her garden, leaving it at my father’s study for him to see how the summer was spent. Father took great pleasure in looking at them and during supper, he would sometimes ask about my mother’s garden.

A week before Christmas, there were already several Christmas hampers near the tree, some were retro hampers filled with classic chocolate, butterscotches, lemon limes and the like. These sweet treats were always in the house during the season as it was something of a tradition among my father’s friends to give each other Christmas sweets at this time. It also helped that his best friend, Uncle Albert, owned a wholesale sweets business which was reputedly known for its imaginative and creative contents during the season. In his study, Dad was arranging his gift for mother: a very special Christmas hamper. It was filled with candies shaped like flowers of different colors and shapes. Dad had a Polaroid picture with him and was comparing the picture with his arrangement, adding or taking away things to see if the composition of the hamper was right. In the morning, mom awoke to see in front of the Christmas tree, a very unique retro sweet hamper which looked like her garden, with the arrangements and colors inside, filled with candy flowers. I think it was one of the best gifts he ever gave to mom.

The Best Wholesale Sweets

One should be able to know the main source of the sweets you take. It is wrong to think that just because all retro sweets are being manufactured by the same companies and then you won’t have to be conscious about where it came from. It may have the same quality but the services they provide are different.

For wholesale sweets, there are factors to be considered and one of which is affordability. Since your main goal is for the business to work out, you need to ensure that your supplier’s prices would allow you to make the most profit in order for your business would prosper. It may sound quite easy but actually this task would require one to exert effort. You could make a research online about the best suppliers of traditional sweets. However, always be cautious as some websites could be quite deceiving.

Also, you need to check on its consistency. You see, you may be able to get your products at a good deal but then you need to wait for a month or two to restock. Well, that’s not a good practice as customers will surely get affected with this kind of procedure. They’ll end up looking for a different store and that would mean a loss on your part.

Then, you also need to check on the delivery. A supplier with own delivery system is a plus. What’s also important is that you need to ensure that your goods are in good condition. Demand for fresh stocks other than making sure that it is being delivered promptly. Who wants a flattened candy bar? No one. Some would even think it’s already expired. Everything must be in good shape.

Nowadays, wholesale sweets are a booming industry and if you want to be part of it, you need to work from the basics of ensuring you get only good merchandise and get it before your customers go looking around for another store.

Lollipops to Keep You Going

Sometimes our job takes up a lot of our time especially when we belong to a field that is highly competitive that it is so tiring to even keep up with the pace. These jobs often than not allow us with so little time for our self. Schedules are sometimes too jam-packed that it is often impossible for you to even have a decent meal. And if you are not eating well, how would you be able to keep up with the profession you are into.

How can you give your full efforts when you are close to fainting due to hypoglycemia? Hypoglycemia means your body is deficient in glucose (sugar) which is a form of carbohydrate which is by the way used to give you the required energy you need to last in a day. So if you want to handle all your busy schedules and still retain your personal life and most especially keep your health intact then might as well take in what you can like sugar which can be easily found in candies and other sweets. But if you want an enjoyable experience while recharging then I would suggest sweets like lollipops.

Lollipops are sweets contain the carbohydrates you need in your hectic lifestyle. What more? Since lollipops are made up of sugars, it is a known fact that glucose is the energy source for the brain. So even If without meals if you have lollipops or other sweets with you, your mental processes will not fail you. I can vouch for its effectiveness, since it’s what I always do whenever I don’t have the time to take my meals.

Before I go to work, I always make sure that I got lollipops or candies in my pockets so that when I feel my stomach rumbling I have something to at the least temporarily substitute the meals I should have taken. And I have observed that while I am eating or chewing candies or lollipops I can think more clearly. Sometimes even when I take meals, I still carry around with me lollipops in case I got hungry.

Kids Love of Birthday Sweets

Birthdays are special occasions in a person’s life. It is a reminder that one is lucky enough to be born and is enjoying the things that comes just by merely existing. That is why we celebrate the day of our birth. Knowing that, we, as fun-loving, carefree and most appreciative kind of people wanted to celebrate this wonderful occasion with our loved ones, special someone’s, friends and other acquaintances one have.

This kind of feeling is no different in a child or a kid’s perspective, though not the aspect of gratefulness of being born part. What I was referring to is about a kid’s need to be surrounded by the people the kids love and who love them as well. What do you think your son would feel if during his birthday you are too busy to celebrate it with him and to make up for your absence you instead send tons of gifts.

Do you think he would be delighted and appreciative? Kids, just like everybody else, need to feel important, feel loved and wanted. Isn’t that why we give them the freedom, the decision to celebrate their birthdays with their friends, playmates or classmates? We hold Children’s Birthday Parties so the child would enjoy the day with you and with friends. Isn’t it a great feeling to be able to see such joy in your kid’s face while he hands out the birthday sweets you prepared as giveaways? We all know how kids love birthday sweets.

Birthday sweets are one of the most anticipated ingredients and are very important for the success of a children’s party. Can you imagine a kid who doesn’t crave for sweet things? I couldn’t. For me, sweets such as birthday sweets are not merely sweets that would vanish after it melted. Birthday sweets are representation of how much I am loved. That is a fact, scientifically speaking.

Kids often equate love to sweet things. Why? Imagine a child doing a great job on Math or English or maybe has done a good deed, what do adults usually give as a reward? Yes, sweets. That is why if you want your child to feel extra special and very much loved, then never ever forget to buy their favorite birthday sweets.

My Own Birthday History

Wouldn’t you like to create your own birthday history? I do and I already did. It is such a funny yet exceptionally eventful birthday celebration. My visitors were awed by what I had in store for them. Whenever I celebrate my birthdays I am always an active participant in a sense that I do all the preparations and I do the kinds of things that is unusual.

I wanted my birthday to be memorable for my visitors as it is for me. I know you are dying to know what I did to make a birthday history. Maybe what I did is or is not interesting for you, so might as well be the judge then. Well it was my birthday and of course I wanted to celebrate it differently yet I also want them to enjoy it. Then voila, my childish imagination runs and all I can think of is a children’s party inspired birthday. So

I went to some candy shops and department stores to check out party sweets suited to the young ones and the “once young”. There I bought sweet hampers of retro sweets, ice cream, a Bug’s bunny decorated cake, finger sandwiches, cup cakes, crackers, munchies such as chips, popcorn, and pretzels, juices and soda water. I did not serve any punch or any alcoholic drinks because it was supposed to be a kid’s party.

And I decorated the place with balloons and other kid’s stuff. Imagine their faces when they thought for a moment that they went to a wrong party. But after the shock, we went and enjoyed the party like kids, after all despite the age we are kids at heart. I also filled goodie handbags with birthday sweets like wham bars, sherbet fountains, bonbons, marshmallows, toffee crumbles, spearmint chews, liquorice comfits and other retro sweets and offered it as giveaways. It really feels good to bring back those childhood times and make memories once again.

The Dangers of Heavy Liquorice Intake

Liquorice is one herb that has been long used in the traditional Chinese medicine to cure many illnesses. One of the main benefits of liquorice is treating coughs. The licorice roots extract is drunk to relieve cough and also to cure colds and flu.

Nowadays, there are already licorice sweets available in the market. Liquorice sweets are made from liqourice root extracts and sweeteners such as natural glycyrrhizin. It is also mixed with binders such as flour, gelatin or gum Arabic. Beeswax is then sprayed on the mixed ingredients that are hardened up to 135 degrees Celsius to make the shiny surface of licorice sweets. These retro sweets are available in many flavors and have become a common favorite to many people of all ages. It is also available in many designs to make it attractive. The sweet flavor of the retro sweets may be one of the reasons why some people can’t enough of eating too much of licorice sweets.

What most of them do not know is that excess liquorice is dangerous to the body. It is toxic to the liver. It can cause edema and hypertension and it can bring about hypokalemia (low potassium in the blood). A decrease in levels of potassium in the blood can cause cardiac arrhythmias and it can depress the muscle function. This can result to inability to move and most dangerous complication of all is respiratory depression which results to death. Therefore, liquorice sweets must be taken in moderation in order to prevent its dangerous effects to the body.

Most experts that have conducted study on the effects of Liquorice recommend that licorice sweets intake must not exceed more than 100mg a day and if possible, it should not be taken everyday. This can prevent the unwanted cardiovascular and muscular effects and it can also prevent liver toxicity.

Keeping Hygiene in Top Shape while Enjoying Retro Sweets Goodness

Halloween is every kid’s favorite holiday since it’s their excuse to be munching their favorite candies and other retro sweets. Everybody loves candies, who wouldn’t? Young or maybe young at heart, they give you this uncanny joy in your being. Suddenly, it could make you relax due to its sweetness.

There are sorts of retro sweets, there’s Wine Gums, Rhubarbs and Custards, Jelly Babies or maybe Bon Bons. During Halloween, a variety of candies could be given to kids during their trick or tricking activity.

A parent should now their child’s favorite candy, may it be jellybeans or lollipops or what not. The sucker such as the toffee, gums or lollipops, they tend to stay in the mouth for a longer period of time and they may be really harmful to the child’s teeth. However, as long as the child is brushing his/her teeth after eating then he/she is doing okay. For those with braces, it is being discouraged for them to eat candies since it might cause some reactions to the gums or mainly the teeth.

Other favorites are Strawberry Lollies, Toffee Treacle and Blackjacks. Now, if you’re looking for candies, try to choose those that are teeth-friendly.

Of course, we all know that sugar would really cause tooth decay and other activities most especially on children. Well, this could happen if the child is not taking good care of his /her teeth. It is, however the responsibility of the parents to teach their children how to brush their teeth especially after eating retro sweets. For example, during Halloween, the kid has to brush his / her teeth after the trick or treat activity and mouth rinsing could do too just to get rid of the sugar. Also, fluoride water could be used best for this.

As for the adults, you can have anything you want on that Halloween night as you are more responsible of your hygiene. You need not worry about tooth decay as long as you keep on brushing your teeth after some retro sweets galore.

Ice Cream is a Favorite among My Birthday Sweets

Ice cream is one of my favorite birthday sweets. It’s a kind of retro sweet for everyone and I love it especially if it is cookies and cream. Every year, I always celebrate my birthday with my family and there was never a year where ice cream is not served on the table. It’s one of the birthday sweets that my visitors also loved. Compared with cakes, the ice cream is always the retro sweets that everyone is always after at the table. Ice cream is cool, sweet and mouth watering. It makes us thirsty but it somehow gives us a happy feeling.

Ice creams are always good and we have our individual favorites because it has many flavors. It is the common retro sweets in birthdays and is always present in any occasion. It is very accessible because it can be bought anywhere. It is also affordable that is why it is always present in most occasions because it is not expensive. Children love ice cream because aside from the different flavors, ice cream comes in many different colors that are attractive to children. It is perhaps the reason why even we, adults still crave for ice cream because it seems to wake up the child in us. Ice cream reminds me of colorful balloons and parties. It also reminds me of summer where fun vacations take place.

I love to eat ice cream when the weather is hot or when I get depressed. Since it is very accessible, I can always have it at home on the ref and take it out when I feel like eating it. Ice cream is not only one of my birthday sweets but it is also my comfort food. Eating ice cream seems to make me happy. Ice cream seems to wake up my endorphins giving me the happy and elated feeling. It might be perhaps of the cool and flavorful, sweet taste. I also love dipping my favorite birthday sweets with ice cream especially those luscious sherbets and chocolates. Until I grow old, I may still have ice cream on my birthdays. It’s the retro sweets that will never be forgotten on my special day.

Add up to the Scare

I have always perceived Halloween as a scary occasion. It is the time wherein anyone has the right to scare and to be scared at the same time. Who could ever ignore the summons for an enjoyable day spent on trick or treat? Remember the time when you practiced your sweet and angelic smile so you can soften the hearts of your neighbors to give you more than they usually give other children? Oh yes, I did that before. The begging eyes and the widest and sweetest smile I could muster. And it worked. But oftentimes there are really those grumpy neighbors who ignore you and put you on your way without giving you even a single sweet. That is when you try your hand at scaring them. Fun isn’t it? That is why they have the option. It is either to be tricked or to treat. To treat is way way better.

Other scary aspects of Halloween are visiting haunted houses or cemeteries to play courage test and of course who doesn’t want to be invited in Halloween parties? Holding parties for Halloween is always an in thing. It is where you can dress up as vampires, witches, ghosts, headless horseman, goblins and so on. Not only that you can also add up to the scare of the Halloween season by decorating your favorite Halloween sweets to look as scary, as grimy and as bloody as you could.

Making Halloween treats to fit the event is simple and easy. You can follow spooky recipes like bloody finger cookies, spider snack cakes, monster head potatoes, grilled ghost and pumpkin cheese sandwiches, spooky tuna salad sandwich, blazing monster eyes, bloody bug juice, blue witch’s brew, crypt keeper cocktail and a lot more. But if you want you can buy pre-packed retro sweets with a touch of Halloween atmosphere. There are Halloween sweets that are in hampers containing your favorite ghoulish but sweet things like gummy worms, spiders and skulls, sweet skullcrushers, Halloween mallow pops, jelly pythons, fizzy dracula teeth, jelly filled munchy maggots, spooky dips, horror candy heads, eye poppers and etc.

These are only few of the many retro sweets that one can serve as Halloween treats for parties or as Halloween sweets for trick and treaters. So add up to the scare this Halloween through your sweets.

The Perfect Gift for Boys

Birthdays are always great celebrations. Aside from the lavish foods served during the day or night, gifts are one of the things I am most excited about. But that’s if you’re the one receiving the gifts, but if you’re the one giving it – the process of finding the perfect gift is a tedious, mind boggling task.

If the celebrant is a boy, all the more hard to find a gift for him because men- well, we sort of have monotonous things, and sometimes uber boring. So, well, I always want to give exciting gifts, something not ordinary, something cool.

In my search for the perfect, affordable gifts for boys, I found cool boys t-shirts. Yes, the name itself resound cool. It is not only great for boys but also for boys at heart. These t-shirts often have exciting prints on them, and in bright, attractive colors.

Cool boys t-shirts are great as gifts because it connotes happiness, and it’s cool. Of course, you have to choose the design that fits the celebrant well, whether it’s his personality or because that’s his favorite cartoon character, or if it’s his favorite color. Plus, cool boys t-shirts are sure to be worn and used by the celebrant. Isn’t it great to see your gift worn or used?

There are lots of designs to choose from, I am sure you will have enough for everyone. It comes in different sizes and colors, sometimes, you can even personalize it. Anyway, the point here is to give something that’s meaningful and that’s coming from your heart. Whether you give cool boys t-shirt or something else, as long as it comes from the heart, it will always be appreciated.

Sweet Hampers on Christmas Day

Christmas is a day for gift giving. It is when we empty our pockets just so we can provide gifts to our loved ones and special someone. Often, months before Christmas day we are already saving enough money to buy things that they would love. Especially when you get them something very expensive. But even if does not cost much it still conveys your expression of love and that enough will make them treasure it.

The true meaning of Christmas does not lie on how expensive your gifts are but on the way you show that you cherish them through simple gifts. I, for one prefer simple gifts that represent something rather than gifts that was given just for the sake of giving and no sense of feeling behind. Wouldn’t it a bit disappointing to know that a friend of yours or your sweetheart although gave you an expensive gift yet one that is bought by his or her secretary? Where is the essence of Christmas? Well those kinds of things do happen to adults. They get so busy with their lives even on Christmas day that they can’t even spare a thought much less time to select something appropriate and one that you would truly like.

Unlike when we were children, when we spend the whole day thinking what gift we might get, when we wait for Santa Clause to bring us those toys that we deserve since we have been good all throughout the year. It is somewhat nostalgic thinking back on the days when we are satisfied with Christmas sweets as gifts. How I love to eat those sweets especially retro sweets in Christmas hampers.

Retro sweets on sweet hamper which are filled with marshmallows, bonbons, porky pigs, liquorice comfits and wheels, sherbet pips, sour apples, dinky chocolates, sweet peanuts, fizzballs, gobstoppers, floral gums toffee crumble and my favorite white chocolates which I can’t get enough of. I just can’t forget how delighted I was whenever I get to have sweet hampers on Christmas day. Hope someone remembers how I love those luscious Christmas sweets. If no one does then I will buy myself one.

My Christmas History

When I was a kid, I always get excited when Christmas time is near. Until now that I am older, I am still like a kid looking forward for the fast approaching Christmas time. Christmas is always a season of love, joy and hope for me. Despite the difficulties and hardships around me, when it’s Christmas, I only see happiness and love even for a short moment. It’s not the gifts, Christmas hampers and Christmas trees that makes Christmas a wonderful season. Rather, it is the peace and unity of the family and friends that makes the season meaningful to me. Christmas is a time of reconciliation, Sins are forgiven and old woes are forgotten to give way to the birth of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Christmas is a time that is celebrated by all the people in the world. Despite the differences of religion, Christmas is recognized by everyone. It is an event that is not foreign to all of us because it is widely spread and announced to all as it is fast approaching. It is a not only for the Christians but for all.

The season of Christmas is also a time for vacation and getting along with our loved ones. That is why I am always excited because Christmas time is also our family reunion. My siblings would always come home from other places where they work and take their breaks to celebrate Christmas time with us. We would then cook delicious food for Christmas Eve, buy Christmas hampers to share, give Christmas sweets to the kids, go to church for masses and listen to the Christmas carols.

Every year, my Christmas history is still the same. It is still the most beautiful season of all. Despite the changes of the times, nothing can replace Christmas as my favorite time of the year.

Christmas Seasons' Best Moments

Christmas is the season for sharing and reconciling. It is when we forget all grudges and put all misunderstandings in the past. Christmas is often seen as the only occasion or the only time where the whole family gathers together. It is indeed a sort of holiday season everyone can look forward to as Christmas season’s best moments happens here.

Christmas is also about sharing and gift-giving. When I was just a kid all I anticipated and get excited about Christmas are the numerous gifts I would receive. I usually get dolls, dresses, money or other pretty toys that more or less I like because sometimes adults have bad taste on what children likes to have. But it’s all appreciated though besides it’s the thought that counts.

Other things I so love about it, are the Christmas sweets. They are all retro sweets packed in Christmas hampers that would probably make your mouth water. It did for me. My aunties and uncles know that I love sweet stuffs that is why they never forget to bring Christmas sweets for my sweet tooth. I love to eat many kind of retro sweets like wham bars, sherbet fountains, sherbet pips, candy sticks, fruit pastilles, strawberry milkshakes, apple and custard, pascalls sweet peanuts, lemonade fizzballs, toffee crumble, lemon bonbons, liquorice comfits, liquorice wheels, twisty marshmallows, white chocolates, floral gums, dinky chocolate snowmen or santas, gobstoppers, bonbons, and all other sweets that comes in Christmas hampers. I can’t remember all, but all these are my favorites. I don’t seem to get enough of it, since I know I would only be allowed to eat so many sweets during Christmas, so I make the most of it.

Those Christmas sweets make my holiday season even sweeter. Until now, I still do look forward to Christmas because of this, although now that I am working and can afford one, I need not wait for my aunties or uncles to bring me retro sweets in Christmas hampers. Now I buy it to reward myself and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere. Indeed I definitely will enjoy this times Christmas season’s best moments.

Eating Those Dracula Fangs

The Halloween season is near! Kids and kids at heart are surely excited for this time of the year to arrive. With all the costume parties and trick-or-treats, it sure is an enjoyable season for everyone. It is often associated with the colors black and orange. This is supposed to be the day of commemoration of the saints and the dead. This is why people go out of their house during this time looking like ghosts and monsters. The season has become a celebration of some sort.

There are many activities during this season. There are ghost tours, costume parties, and bonfires. The trick-or-treating is of course a fixture of this season. Aside from Christmas, Halloween is the only other time of the year where people give something. The usual things given are the Halloween treats. During Halloween sweets are the usual things given to kids who knock on the door and would scream “trick-or-treat.” Among these delicious sweets are the scary Dracula fangs.

This is one of the retro sweets that has been scaring kids and adults alike for a number of years. It is a fun way of scaring people around. This is because it doesn’t have the unsavory taste of those artificial Dracula fangs, plus you can eat it! When you have eaten the whole thing, it is easy to replace it with another one.

There are many scary sweets available in the market especially with the Halloween just around the corner. There are sweets formed into spiders, skeletons, rats, scorpions, bones, and of course, fangs. These sweets will surely complete the trick-or-treat experience of the kids in your neighborhood.

The variety of the sweets makes the Halloween and enjoyable and delicious experience for everyone. Dracula fang is a chewy Halloween sweet which serves two purposes. One is to scare people and the other is to be one of the many enjoyable Halloween treats.

My Bittersweet Halloween Memories

At the age of twenty or so, I may scoff at the excitement of some toddlers trick or treating during Halloween. That’s what we get when we grow up, we get to be more rationale and not get to be excited at small things in life like we used to when we were kids—but no matter how much we roll our eyes at such fuss over such occasion, we can’t help but feel nostalgic too.

Back in the days where we have our own fairy costume and we walk hand-in-hand with our parents or our best friend and scurry through the neighborhood and yell “Trick or treat!” hoping we could go to even the last house at the end of the street and happily get home with our heavy baskets full of Halloween sweets.

Where we get excited to see what is in store for each household and gobble up as much retro sweets as we can never minding our mother’s warning about tooth decay and stomach ache. For us, Halloween will be incomplete without the usual scary treats of spiders, fangs, little skulls and other scary treats. We get to “exchange” sweets with our best friend or siblings who want to have this on your basket and you want to have that on theirs.

Yes…Halloween can bring out bittersweet memories indeed…it even brings out your memory on your worst Halloween costume ever and your true spooky experiences during Halloween. But whatever age range I or you are in, it is no denying that Halloween is not just for kids who trick or treats, nor for Halloween sweets or treats...is it also for us…it brings out the good old memories of childhood and pure innocence of getting excited even just by getting a load of candies for a night.

What about Retro Sweets in Christmas Season?

Christmas is the day that almost all people awaited at each year. It comes to our minds every time it is the –ber months. And then we usually start our countdown of days till Christmas Eve. I am not really sure how people do it, but that is the way I anticipate the season of Christmas. I mark my calendars hoping that my godfathers and godmothers are marking theirs too, waiting for the time to finally be able to save enough money to buy gifts and give their Christmas gifts to me.

So far I usually receive money, toys, clothes, perfume, shoes, and other apparels that suit me at my age. But for me, if I would have to give gifts to my nephews, nieces, or anyone for that matter, I would have accompanied it with something to represent the sweet sentiments that Christmas always reminds me of. What other sweet things would that be other than Christmas sweets, all beautifully wrapped up in various designed packages. If only I know how to bake, I would personally do it myself to make it even sweeter and special.

Christmas sweets should not be limited as gifts. It could be something you could prepare for the kids like retro sweets served in jars, hampers or even capsules. Retro sweets to serve can be special bonbons, lollipops, white chocolates, marshmallows, toffee crumble, coconut teacakes, porky pigs, pear drops, liquorice comfits and wheels, sherbet pips, sour apples, spearmint chews and etc. This can be bought in almost all shops since it is Christmas season, usually in pre-set packages. You can also send this Christmas sweets as something to share to your neighbors. It is cheaper yet full of the spirit of sharing which embodies the true meaning of Christmas.

Never estimate the power of retro sweets to add joy to your Christmas holiday.
