Christmas is a day for gift giving. It is when we empty our pockets just so we can provide gifts to our loved ones and special someone. Often, months before Christmas day we are already saving enough money to buy things that they would love. Especially when you get them something very expensive. But even if does not cost much it still conveys your expression of love and that enough will make them treasure it.
The true meaning of Christmas does not lie on how expensive your gifts are but on the way you show that you cherish them through simple gifts. I, for one prefer simple gifts that represent something rather than gifts that was given just for the sake of giving and no sense of feeling behind. Wouldn’t it a bit disappointing to know that a friend of yours or your sweetheart although gave you an expensive gift yet one that is bought by his or her secretary? Where is the essence of Christmas? Well those kinds of things do happen to adults. They get so busy with their lives even on Christmas day that they can’t even spare a thought much less time to select something appropriate and one that you would truly like.

Unlike when we were children, when we spend the whole day thinking what gift we might get, when we wait for Santa Clause to bring us those toys that we deserve since we have been good all throughout the year. It is somewhat nostalgic thinking back on the days when we are satisfied with Christmas sweets as gifts. How I love to eat those sweets especially retro sweets in Christmas hampers.
Retro sweets on sweet hamper which are filled with marshmallows, bonbons, porky pigs, liquorice comfits and wheels, sherbet pips, sour apples, dinky chocolates, sweet peanuts, fizzballs, gobstoppers, floral gums toffee crumble and my favorite white chocolates which I can’t get enough of. I just can’t forget how delighted I was whenever I get to have sweet hampers on Christmas day. Hope someone remembers how I love those luscious Christmas sweets. If no one does then I will buy myself one.
